Re: Oldbie

I only found out about mine after the engine bay had been powerwashed and steam was rising from the cable as it struggled to start.

The cable was absolutely roasting to touch

Re: Eddypecks forth installment - Lucy

Excellent progress [emoji122]

Did the old thermostat housing remain in one piece? Always good practice to have one on standby as you did; i didnt when i changed one in 2010 lol

Re: Oldbie

Shouldnt be much if any harder than on a manual mk2 i'd imagine The starter bolts screw through the front engine mount. Support the engine from the sump/bell housing on a jack with block of wood to distribute the load. You may have to raise the engine via this jack to line the bolt holes up when fit...

Re: Eddypecks forth installment - Lucy

I'd only be driving it on dry roads this time of year, and with no rain forecast. You dont want to give the underneath a salt bath!

So plenty of time to do the stuff you mentioned!

Salt might not be down as far south as you though......

Any problems with extra heat under the car? Did you fit a solid front engine mount? A flexi will be required [emoji1...

Re: 8v & 16v

Today interior was removed, fuel tank dropped etc... A few areas of known concern, and a few new areas of concern but on the whole not as bad as it could have been. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20191104/f570b54905b419acd35c55f61df23096.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20191104/68fbf2bd78659e...

Re: Ceramic exhaust coating

thanks, still trying to decide if its worth fitting it.

Have you found any increase in performance fitting one to a 16v?
