Throttle cable snapped. What do i need?

Postby wlsmith1985 » Fri Jun 28, 2019 9:40 pm

Hi guys

Today my throttle cable snapped at the pedal end. Its a mk2 golf gti it was originally an 8v but its running a 1.8turbo 20v agu engine. Do i need a mk4 cable or do i need a mk2 cable? Can someone point me in the right direction. Bought the car like it so not a clue

Kind regards

Will

hi, sorry just seen this, can you remove cable? to identify parts number? if in doubt take both ends to autofactors and a tape measure.. but would think agu cable would be the 1, and just to route it as found

Hi Kenneth
I got it sorted, for those who wish to know if you are running the AGU engine you need the longer throttle cable from the 1.3 carb model I think its the 1364mm one (longest they do)

Kind regards
