Colour, colour or colour!

Postby buzzmk2 » Sun Jan 06, 2019 1:25 pm

Hello everyone,

first wanna welcome myself back to the forum, I haven't been on since 2015 after the national meet :frustration: .
And missed the banter :bout ye:

I am in the process of rebuilding a 1989 VW golf 1.3, its time to start sanding and painting. (I will update my build thread soon) :cool (y):
Underneath and engine bay are gonna be protected with a black grit paint for the harsh winters.

At the moment it is a red but that will all change this summer. I am wanting a type of grey.
Selenite Grey, Agate Grey, China Grey(favourite), Porsche light blue, Palladium Silver. Are all choices.

But what do you guys think and do you have any other options for a good grey? (within a standard budget)

Cheers Buzz

Personally I’m not a fan of greys, they often look like lacquered primer.

The Audi grey looks nice when it’s shiny, however it’s become a bit scene now imo ....the sort of colour I expect to see on a T4 .... baby blue or silver with a brown interior would be nice... I am old though

What do you all think to the Palladium Silver then? It shines and goes darker in different lighting.
It's to look good as well as be used. It's gonna be the dream self built car.

The Mercedes colour? It's a slightly darker shade lamost gunmetal in some lights  but ultimately you've got to live with it :D

It looks nearly white. Darker and something that I can shine up :)

What about this Pepper Grey?

Why not get something mixed to your spec. Most decent paint shops can do this and with computer measuring are able to mix up another batch if you ever need it after a ding etc.

Nice grey with a slight metalic flip and that lacuer that gets darker when wet.

Mmmmm !
