Wow, just wow! Serious fabrication skills you have there.
It would almost be a shame to paint it!

Yeah I wish! Can’t take any credit for the metalwork I’m afraid. That’s all courtesy of Dave at Resto Shack. I wouldn’t have been able to do the work to that standard if I even got the time.

Ahhh, I've watched many a Restoshack rebuild, their work is second to none!
Do you know Dave Tapp and Chris Quick then?

I don’t know those guys as such but I follow their builds. Very nice cars.

I used to go to meets with them in the old days, good bunch of guys down there

I've just noticed, your location says Glasgow, but you're using Resto Shack.
Have you moved, or does their reputation really pull customers from that far away?!

Ha ha, no I haven't moved. I was just really impressed with the quality of their work so figured it would be worth the journey.

There was a couple of areas of corrosion on both front wings lower down. Not major really, and would’ve been repairable, but I managed to pick up a genuine G60 front wing from VW classic parts. They only had the offside available unfortunately, and since I was replacing the o/s it made sense to do the n/s as well. Since I already had two new genuine std wings at home, the decision was taken to create a G60 wing from one of those.
Here’s some more of Dave’s metalwork.

Thought the workshop / quality looked familiar, Resto Shack ftw  Hell of a trip from Glasgow though?

Certainly in good hands there and looks like it'll be a minter when you're done with it.
