Advice on buying modded mk2

Postby MouseyB » Tue Feb 12, 2019 2:39 pm

Hi folks. My car is taking me ages, which I don’t mind, however, the peasant wagon keeps letting me down. So I need a car. It’s a mk2 with a gtd engine. Looks lovely ... I dare say too lovely for the price. Anything I should consider before even making moves to view it?

To be honest mate, nowadays, it's all about the condition of the shell.
Most repairs can be made, but if you've got deep rot, you'll be throwing money away.

Have a good look under the car, around the sills, get a good look at the rear struts, make sure there's no rot between the shell and the strut towers, as that can be an expensive fix.

yeah don't worry about engine etc if the shell is good then you can over come everything else. it's all just nuts and bolts, no fancy engine management shiteee to worry about
