It's back - Car of the Month September 2010
My names Adam, username Gibson, I have been on the VW Golf Mk2 Owners Club for sometime now. I have owned my white mk2 1.6 driver for approx 6 months. I bought it as a rolling shell with the boot full of engine parts. After collecting the car from Leeds, on a trailer, I took it home to Cardiff and set about rebuilding the head. To my surprise in the boot was a Weber 32/34 dmtl carb that meant that the initial £200 i paid for the car was a bargain. Overall the car was very clean inside and out.
My future plans are to fit my Supersprint exhaust, kindly donated by N9EWY (on the site) and to fit my white 14" steels that may eventually get banded.
Overall the short time with this car has been amazing, so much so that I sold my 2006 Fiesta to have the Mk2 as my daily drive.
