I found with my 4-1 branch it not blowing but a louder tapping from the resonance of the stainless steel. Sometime I think its the joint that makes it worse.

What you could try and was suggested my years ago was a turbo bag. You could place this over the joint which to me sounds like where your problem is. But these can be expensive. Other than that you can try heat wrap to deaden any sound.

The only thing you might get which is a problem is that if you wrap or use something like that bag is you might end up transferring the exhaust heat further down the pipe. I had this and it can melt your mountings if there close to the exhaust i.e. almost touching.

Sounds like it may be the exhaust from the head..

Put a big cam in it and then it will just sound mint lol

I wrapped mine with a kit I got on e bay to protect the cover on the steering column from the heat and didn't have any noise issues.
Got the kit here http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Exhaust-Parts-UK?_rdc=1
They've got lots of useful exhaust stuff and were very helpful, what's the rest of your system? I've kept the standard front and centre boxes with some aftermarket back box which was on the car when I got it, other than it's blue I don't know what it is! but the car sounds really sweet, not too loud but sporty. Very Happy
