Engine & Gearbox / Re: Engine bay cross member issue! Help
Bolt 6 secures the cross member and the rad holder together using part number 3
Bolt 7 secures the cross member etc to the car
Bolts 8 go through and secure the bumper.

I've had my car under cover for a couple of weeks now.
In the end I went with ...QuoteEvery Car Covered - WeatherPro £164
https://www.everycarcovered.com/products/vw-golf-mk2-mk3-mk4-1983-2003-weatherpro-car-cover
... as it was cheaper.
It’s a bit baggy, it’s designed to for mk1 to 4, and clearly there’s a size difference between models.
But although baggy it’s a good tight fit where it counts, with the elastic around the bottom. Mine is a big bumper model.
I had shows two weeks running and didn’t need to use the car in between. So since it was clean for the first show I decided to keep the bird poop and tree sap from my neighbours tree off it. But as it happens we’ve had some pretty stormy weather so glad I put it on.
I can’t imagine the other two suppliers I looked at would have been much different.
The one draw back I can think of, is out of sight, out of mind. Every time I look out the window or go out of the house it would make me smile seeing the Golf. Obviously it's still very much there but it's hidden. Odd how that plays tricks with you. It's also prevented nipping out and doing the quick 15-30 min jobs. Even though it takes a few seconds to remove and refit it feels like effort - as a result, I've done a lot less National Meet prep than I would normally do.
The rain this past week also hasn't helped with enthusiasm to clean and polish though. But at least I know when I unwrap it Friday morning it should still be clean enough and will be dry inside.
Hello,Collect from where?
I have a full car set of performance FK suspension struts that I wish to pass on. I took them off an extremely low mileage car some years ago. They are virtually unused and have been stored correctly, ever since. Too heavy to post, so collection only.
No instructions either and that plate confused me as well - seems to serve no purposePresume it's so it could be bolted/mounted to something
Engine control relay, think it's 30 or 109 iirc, I had one, was pain to diagnose as it could be fine for days then just stop and start when it felt like itThink it's 30 from memory.
@sly_gti you mean the beta ? it should be out of a gl.
