I believe it's like this

Bolt 6 secures the cross member and the rad holder together using part number 3
Bolt 7 secures the cross member etc to the car
Bolts 8 go through and secure the bumper.

It’s a bit baggy, it’s designed to for mk1 to 4, and clearly there’s a size difference between models.

But although baggy it’s a good tight fit where it counts, with the elastic around the bottom. Mine is a big bumper model.

I had shows two weeks running and didn’t need to use the car in between. So since it was clean for the first show I decided to keep the bird poop and tree sap from my neighbours tree off it. But as it happens we’ve had some pretty stormy weather so glad I put it on.

I can’t imagine the other two suppliers I looked at would have been much different.

The one draw back I can think of, is out of sight, out of mind. Every time I look out the window or go out of the house it would make me smile seeing the Golf. Obviously it's still very much there but it's hidden. Odd how that plays tricks with you. It's also prevented nipping out and doing the quick 15-30 min jobs. Even though it takes a few seconds to remove and refit it feels like effort - as a result, I've done a lot less National Meet prep than I would normally do.

The rain this past week also hasn't helped with enthusiasm to clean and polish though. But at least I know when I unwrap it Friday morning it should still be clean enough and will be dry inside.

How has it handled the wind, do you have additional straps.

A - C / Re: Brakes (front)
An option I'm looking at is the MK1 TT calipers (312mm).
Think I need MK3 hubs with 6mm shims and the calipers / carriers obviously.

General Chat / Re: Dash Cams
I have a nextbase dash cam (can't remember model but few years old now) that has WiFi connection for phone. Has gshock sensor for collision detection, (auto locks the files and I think continues recording for a bit) . Was around £100 new.
I have added the additional wiring kit that's available so it's hooked up to ignition live

I believe part of the redesign was to make it easier to bleed the calipers.

I think on early calipers they had to be taken off and turned upside down or something like that.
That's going by something I read somewhere, so could be absolute ******.
