Mk2 Golf Chat / Re: Sunroof seal
I think it's still possible for water to seep through the sunroof seal. That's why it's important to ensure the 4 x drains are clear. If you do decide to fit a new seal shop around. Lots of items with scene tax added. I bought mine from a VW dealer for about £60 but it was 5 years ago!

Engine & Gearbox / Miltek Exhaust -How loud?
I know @Cope will know the answer to this but posting for general consumption. How loud is a Miltek exhaust and where can you get the 2" tips from?

I've had a couple of different exhausts on my Golf.
I used to have a Jetex but didn't like the 3"non OEM style tailpipes nor the motorway drone so changed it for a s/h standard looking centre/back box of unknown make. This one can also drone a bit at certain revs and can set off car alarms when at a certain frequency! Note the centre pipe has/will remain and I think it's a Scorpion.
I bought a s/h Miltek centre and back box with larger tail pipes. It's sort of OEM but the tailpipes are further apart (probs being anal). Before I swap them over how "fruity" will it sound and will I suffer annoying drone on the motorway?

Mk2 Golf Chat / Re: Sun visor retrim
I need to get a replacement headliner but I like the original design so it means buying the fabric from Heritage andgetting it stuck on a glassfibre shell. It won't be cheap, hence it's on the back-burner !

That's neat. I wondered how trimmers did it. I was assuming they 'welded it like the originals.

Interesting Ian. As we know it isn't always max power that gets you from A to B fastest and you have a trophy to prove it!
But that BBM R32 of @Monkey does sound nice.

Heating & Cooling / Re: heater matrix bypass
Agreed Tim.
I'd shake the dash too to get rid of any bits of sponge that are in the dash void. You may need to reinforce the dash aperture which fits over the heaterbox since it can get mis-shapen. Best do all you can whilst the dash is out.
Disintegrated foam on the heaterbox vents can be a sticky mess to sort. But pre autumn is the best time to do it.
