I all I need a standard crank for my 16V, I don't have access to the engine to get any casting number off the old one however I have what I think is the correct one which has the following casting number: 053C 12 DE (or OE) 1Z 1438
My cold start injector is not working, the injector itself is fine.
I have BV in cranking on T2 of the cold start injector N17 when cranking the engine, There is no earth which is supplied by the thermo tme switch F27. I have replaced F26 with a brand new genuine switch but still no earth. I have checked T1/W on F26 which should be earth when the engine id cols and it has 15.9 mega ohms to earth. the body of F26 is crewed int the side of the head and has a good earth. Also T2/G of F26 should be fed with BV on cranking but it is not. I am using the following wiring diagrams:
I have refitted my instrument panel and speedo drive cable, when i turn the red nylon gear at the gearbox end the needle moves, there is no obvious damage to the drive and it feels like its fitting into the box OK but is there a trick to locating it, i cant see where it sits because of the gearbox oil, the speedo is not working BTW. Hi all, i have two vacuum connections on my WUR, one that faces to the side (toward the battery) which i have connected to the T piece connection on the elbow that runs form the ISV to the metering head rubber, and one that faces forward which I have connected to the solid pipe under the cold start injector, dose this sound correct please? Hi all, i have a shell for sale, reasonably solid 5 door with glass, doors etc. The original seats and door cards come with it, also in place are the engine and box and running gear, it got power steering as well. I have the V5 and its SORN in my name. There are other bits with the car but essentially you are buying a rolling (just) shell. The car is in Hull, i could trailer it a reasonable distance or arrange transportation if required at extra cost.
Hi all, the pulley on my PS pump is way out of alignment, the pulley looks like it should be 10mm or more further away from the pump. Its not dished so i cant flip it. As far as i know its to one that came with the car, the alt & water pump line up fine. There is talk of a spacer and I found a part number (068145193A) but i cant see how that would fit. any ideas?
Hi All I am completing my rebuild and about to try and start the engine, i bought the car with it removed and have been piecing it together over the last two years, my question related to no spark and as far as i can see no coil switching, i have so far: Checked the hall sensor, this is fine as when i rotate it the fuel pumps run, I have power on 01 & 15 at the coil, and power and earth to the amp, and I have tried a spare amp as well, I have however noticed that i am missing the idle stabilization control unit under the dash (i have it somewhere but can lay my hand on it as yet) and I am wondering if that being removed would lead to a loss of spark? As far as I can see from the CFD its not part of the ignition side per se, it connected but not in series - any ideas? Phil
Anyone know how the pipes are plumed? I have a metal manifold inline in mine but it was not fitted in the car when i got it (engine had been removed) so I have no idea where it goes, looks like its some some of valve to aid air bleeds? Phil
Hi all, my 1991 16v has a cover over the O/S headlight rear where the air box feed comes from, my question is should the N/S have anything apart from the rubber boot that covers the rear of the bulb?
Am i missing something, what does the two pegs in the bottom of the rad fit into, i can make seance of mine, one fits in to the support member but there is not a hole for the NS one? Phil
