Now that we have transplanted an AGG engine and box into our MK2 we have the old engine and box for sale. Everything is there except the carburettor (for sale separately). Let me know if you are interested in the whole thing or if there is enough interest in different parts I will break it. To comply with selling rules the whole thing would be £150 collected.
In perfect working order. Owned from new for a year but on the car for 10 months. You will need a new choke inner cable, gasket and one of the mounting shafts is partially threaded at one end. Otherwise, ready to fit. May fit other size engines with a change of jets. These are circa £400 now. £250 + postage please.
We bought this a donor for our Mk2 1.3 so we are using the engine and gearbox, fuel tank, associated looms and gear linkages. Everything else is available. I have these Cookie Cutters for sale. 2 x 6 inch and 2 x 7 inch 5x130PCD They have been blasted and then anodised. I then sprayed them the colour you see. There are a couple of chips to the paint but I will include what's left of the paint (2k) so you can touch them up. The only chips are either to the centre where they are covered by the centre caps (not included) or in the close ups. Anything else is light reflection - they are super shiny There is no kerb damage. £250 collected please. Jnc 6 M25.
Hi All, As part of our Mk2 1.3 to Mk3 GTi engine swap we need from a 1.6 or 1.8:
Complete gearstick and linkages through to the engine bay and to the gearbox . Both front and rear engine mount brackets and the gearbox mount bracket.
Since we now have mega brakes and have replaced the original wheels they are up for sale. Four 14" steel wheels with Kumho Ecowing ES31 185/60 R14 82H tyres like new. The tyres have been on the car for about 8 months so the tread is still pretty much all there. Tyres are dated as 2620 and one at 2720. All good, no repairs or nicks etc etc. The wheels are well used and would need a good refurb if going on a nice car but are fine as run arounds or spares. £100 the lot, collected from close to jnc 6 M25 (right at the bottom ).

I have just removed a Team Heko Heckblende in good condition from our car. It is all red. Up close you can see some blackening, in two places, which is the result of rubbing from behind. It isn't noticeable on the car, I didn't notice it until I had taken it off and cleaned it. Otherwise it has a couple of very small scratches on the rear which can be seen from the front, but again, not noticeable on the car. I have just acquired a Mk2 Ryder 1.3l and as you may imagine the Pierburg carb needs some attention. The auto choke does not come on as it should and takes forever to go off once the car is warm. Once it is off it runs OK with a little hesitation at pull away. I have ordered a refurb kit, new mount and pull down mechanism. However, the conventional wisdom seems to be to change to a Weber for simplicity and reliability all round, not least manual choke. This leaves me with a couple of questions. The carb I need seems to be this one from Classic Carbs.
The issue is it only shows it as up to 1990. I emailed the company and they replied that they were unsure if it would fit a 1991. So my question is, will it? Is there a difference between the 1990 and 1991 fitment at all? It seems unlikely but I don't want to spend £400 for it not to fit.
Unfortunately Heritage don't do a carb conversion kit for the 1.3.
I have joined today as I have recently bought (3 weeks) a 1991 Mk2 Ryder 1.3. Having owned a Mk2 Driver 1.6 back in the day I have always liked these early Golfs and as luck would have it so does my son. So when the chance arose to buy this car I decided it would be a good opportunity for him to earn a bit of no claims bonus and get him into a bit of tinkering.
I have some issues to sort out, the most pressing being the carburetor. I will post questions in the relevant section. Other jobs include sorting the drivers side window and relining the headboard and refitting it. The previous owner fitted coilovers and there are some weird and wonderful creaking noises from underneath but these will get ironed out as we go along.
Once I learn how to post pictures I'll put some up.
