I.C.E & Electrical / Intermittent Horn Issue

The horn on my '90 Golf is intermittent, in most cases it will work fine. When I take it to the test centre and it has been driven for say 30 minutes, if I then leave the car running idle it will typically fail. I've tried turning the wheel and then pressing the horn but to no avail. Typically I'll then drive 5 minutes up the road and it will work again fine.

Any suggestions?

Hi all,

I need to replace my rear wind screen wiper on my 1990 Golf 1.6 petrol, I found the following data:

Suggesting that I need 400mm/16" wiper blade, does anyone know if this will do the trick:

The car is not local to me so I can't take a look at the fitting, any help would be appreciated.

Hi all - I have a 1990 Golf CL (.?) Automatic which runs great, but there is an intermittent problem with the horn or klaxon. I can be idle after a good run and the horn just won't work, then if I pull away on the move and it works perfectly.

I suspect it might be the relay, I had a similar starting problem which was remidied by changing the relay. However checking my relays against the schematic I can't work out if I have a relay in position 11 or not. I have attached a photo, there is an L shaped copper piece in the socket which I am unsure about. It is position 11,to the right of the relay with the white wire.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
