Title: 8v down pipe (or 16v)
Post by: MJA on November 09, 2021, 06:20:24 PM
Hi

I'm removing the 4 branch jetex from my car and going back to a cast manifold (sourced) but need a downpipe. Will consider options - stock, stainless, mk2 or mk3 (understand I need a decat to extend).

Cheers
Matt

@marcosgt had a new downpipe and heat shield for sale a while back...

Careful if you go for a mk3 item.
They're tall blocks and might cause interference with your steering rack.

Cheers folks marscgt has been in contact and I'm going for his one on my way to wales in a couple of weeks.

I do hope this solution will work now - my engine is a tall block ABF and the 4 branch hits the bulk head.  I'm going KR cast manifold and this 8v downpipe as a solution...

I've put a few ABFs into mk2s with four branches, you can 'massage' the bulkhead to miss.
It's only one small section, as I recall.

Cheers Monkey I'm going to sell on the 4 branch - I think it will make the engine note very raspy as well as the bulkhead issue as motivators to change back.
