with 5 gears it's a 4+e (economy) gearbox,
so i have the option of accelerating
up to the max (in my case 160 km/h) in the 4th gear,
without going over the top with the revolutions, right ?
edit: more general approach
Does your car have a rev limiter? If so that sets the max revs in each gear. If not be sympathetic and don’t hold revs too high for too long.
Or have I misinterpreted your question? Is the question, 5th gear is so high maximum speed is achieved in 4th? Possibly, what was the broucher top speed, does specify in 4th?
basically you got me right.
there is no switch-mark for the 4th gear on my speedo
and i just wanted to know if the full range is really within the specs.
are there switch-marks for the 4th gear on stronger machines,
which have a higher top speed and no rev-meter ?
we even have a equally motorized 4-gear-version
and its top-speed is also 160 km/h. thank you for asking.
so, the transmission ratio of the gear 1 to 4 of a 4+e gearbox
is equal to the gears of a 4-gear-gearbox ?
there should also be a rev-limiter,
but i would not want to go that far up.
