Hi, am trying to find the build date of my 1985 mk2 as it possibly could be able to register it for classic status (no longer have to pay VED)

I would think you need the year code of your car to be E, which would put it as a 1984 build. If first registration date is prior to 8th January 1985 then that also means you qualify for zero tax.

I was hoping my mk2 was built late 1984 as it was registered March 1985 but unfortunately I don't think  this is the case.
