Title: Changing headlining colour.
Post by: Dene on July 29, 2021, 09:41:54 PM
Hi!

I'm changing my headlining from white to black.
On cars that were produced with black headlining are the sun visor arm and clip black? Also the trim on the rear quarter by the rear seat belt anchor and around the roof, are the black also? If they are, does anyone know where I can get black ones and the trim for inside the sunroof?

Many thanks,

Dene.

HI Dene,

Yes, all GTIs came with a black headlining, they have all the items you described in black.
Best bet is to make a list of everything you need and then look up someone breaking a Golf Gti on ebay or the like.
You'll probably get it cheaper that way, then if you try to buy things individually.

FYI the gti headliner is not black. It’s actually a medium grey with darker grey (almost black) mottled blobs. The blobs make it look darker overall from a distance.

The sun visors, and if sunroof model (assume yours isn’t as you haven’t mentioned), the sunroof panel and handle surround are covered in the same.

Just thought it was worth a mention in case you’re looking at just a generic black headlining material.
