Title: Does a 5 door headliner fit on a 3 door?
Post by: ogz on November 16, 2020, 04:43:09 PM
I've found a golf in the local scrappers with a nice clean headliner but its a 5 door and mine's a 3. I've had a look at parts numbers that I can find and only found 1 number, but I see some sellers on ebay as selling different ones for different models.
Or can I cut it down to fit? I imagine that a 5 door is a bit smaller along the edge where the back door goes than a 3 so it would be more possible to cut a 3 door to fit a 5 but not vice versa...
Any info greatly appreciated

OK looked again and I see there is a different part number for the two and 4 door (was looking on my phone before and it wasn't displaying properly.

So my question is still is it possible to cut to shape or is it too narrow/just the wrong shape somehow?

I don't think you can use it, the C pillars are much wider on a 3 door. and the B pillars are further back.
