Started fine first time, been out and about so probably had half a dozen starts with no issue.

Re: Eddypecks forth installment - Lucy

After a couple of starting failures I bought a new starter motor from Mark Carter of Classic-VW. Cheaper than ECP and no surcharge so didn’t need to fuss about returning the old one. Nice easy job but while I was at it messing with battery cables etc I thought it was ideal opportunity to fit the mk3...

Genuine Momo, large spline boss has arrived. Will be a bit deeper by the time I've added the ATWIE/Italvolanti adapter on it but should be better than the eBay Scheiße on there now.

Re: First failure

So confirmation, it is for certain the starter motor so will now be swapped out. I was just a little uncertain that it could have been related to the immobiliser but it failed on me last night leaving work. I was the last to leave my place but managed to find a couple of helpful warehouse workers st...

Re: Tyres

185/55 15s are original factory spec for 15s but as 195/50 became more commonly used (I think they were standard fit on Sierras and Cavaliers of an age) this made them cheaper so most people started fitted them to the point where I think the majority of owners now believe them to be the standard fit...

Re: Tyres

My mk5 came with those fitted, previous owner seemed to rate them and I have no complaints.
