thanks for everyone getting back to me. last weeked i had the carb off and the inlet and the waterway running over the top of the inlet was bunged up with the old rubber. im not sure if this would make a huge difference but im sure it wouldnt help. all cleared up and a new rubber fitted, now just to...

The other favourite method is to leave the coolant cap off and squeeze the bottom hose. It's taken quite a while to draw hot fluid but eventually worked. i tried that one, and the strange thing is, you can see the fluid in the tank moving when you give the hose a good squeeze but its still not gett...

hi hi, so im back again, cant tell you how angry.. but its angry :frustration: the cars been giving me gip since i got it with regards to its cooling system, or moreso lack of cooling... so far the whole lots come out, been cleaned out, new hoses, flushed rad, new fan switch, new thermostat, checked...

my car is a 1990 1.8 GL Auto.

like you say the part i have is metal and only has two outlets for senders. the replacement looks good but plastic and too many outlets for senders.

i also need new senders because i think one it not both are faulty

Cooling problem - need a part that I can’t find

Could someone please tell me what on earth the part is called which bolts to the front of the block and holds the autochoke switch and thermostat switch?! Maybe I’m going mad but I can’t find one anywhere online.

thanks eddy, when i was looking at it, i did think i might have to drop the alternator and pas pump out. it makes sense to do it now whilst everythings apart and save having to go back and do it after ive put it all back together!

Removing thermo w/ Powersteering

hi guys, so i set about changing a few bits on the cooling system of the new car, fan switch and thermo was a must.. however i cant actually get to the bolts for the thermostat housing because this cars got powersteering and theres hoses and clamps and brackets in the way. has anyone else experience...
