You won't regret going down the 3.2 route, my favourite conversion to date. :thumbs: Looking forward to seeing this one come along I do highly recommend swapping your shifter, cables and tower out for mk4 items, drastically improve the feel of the shift. Also, pennies to buy, as everyone is breaking...

Yeah, they have made a difference, and I'm only running crappy normal pads right now. I'm going to put some performance pads in in the spring, not sure which ones right now, the DS2500s were great, but I wonder if there is a better alternative out there. Rich - I've actually got some Polo rears for the back, so I can use the better bearings.
They'll be going on when I overhaul the rear beam, some time this winter.

However, it's now currently my daily again for a couple of weeks, so no more work on it for the time being.

If the lights are dimming, then the starter is drawing current and attempting to operate, so I'd say you're on the money with a fresh one

If you're not getting a battery drain when you attempt to fire her up, I'd say it probably isn't the starter.
Do the dash lights come on when you have the ignition on?

Also, have a look and make sure the starter solenoid wire is still connected, could be something simple.
