Favourite modification on a car at the national meet

Postby kerrly1 » Tue Jul 10, 2012 10:02 pm

I have seen/heard a few people commenting on what their favourite car was and I know that during the show and shine especially it was wonderful to see some truly original examples on display which demonstrated perfectly how VW got things very right to start with.

That said I have always been into modifying cars, although as age sets in I am becoming more conservative with some aspects.

Luckily there was a huge variety of Mk2s with various modifications from pink interiors, to race inspired Recaros, utterly luxury golfs to those with barely 2 seats, there were golfs with 40hp and others with well in excess of 200hp so there ought to have been something for everyone.

For me though there were some touches which may not excite a lot of people but definitely worked for me for example:

Scratch's "vintage silver" (I hope i got that right) paint job on engine components
B-Star's custom BBS RA 16x8 - I WISH those guys would do some 16x8 BBS RZs
Fisherman Freds gauge holder in the centre console
The red 3door with white centered BBS alloys, the exhaust was a perfect fit

What else did people notice then???????????

Hahaha i wondered how long it would be before you piped up

It is a lovely shade of berry and you know that I think the interior is a phenomenal piece of work, the dash is fantastic with all the extra stitching/detailing around the corners.
