:hijacked: Bonjour to you all decided a year was more than enough without a mk2 so after national meet this year (best one ever by the way !! ) I set to work on the search for a worthy project

Initially looking for a 3 door that was complete and drivable without many rust issues It that went out the window and I bought a Jetta 1.8 gl that has no engine lol.

Now the original plan was to go all out track weapon that I can use daily however that is currently on hold (Mrs wasn't happy about the fact that it was going to be 2 seats and a steering wheel )

So plan is now to make a nice show worthy motor that will be very happy on a track
So it's 20vt this Time not the trusty vr motors lol
Going to keep interior pretty standard tbh even though it's a really gay blue velour type affair
Wheels definitely not bbs (those who know me know my severe dislike of them lol )
And obviously me being me it has to handle so going to upgraded throughout
Anyway enough of the blah blah blah here's some pics

Anyway you get the idea just cleaning her up ready for the bit of welding she needs and a general deep clean
Even got the Mrs jet washing the carpets lol
I may do a clean bay type affair I not fully thought about it yet we'll see how it goes
Plan is to get it done within 6 months or less ha !

I've spent well over a year squirrelling away all the parts needed for mine, go a few minor bits to sort like hoses for the intercooler etc but after that it should be OK to start. It doesn't feel like I've spent much, although I have, but it's not the thousands some have spent getting all the parts together.
I do have one minor thing in the way, my other mk2 needs to be finished so I can sell it.

There will be a few suttle changes to interior
Main one being the front seats and changing foam to be more supportive and a few gauges so I can keep an eye on the motor but apart from that it will stay for now lol

I'd put the brake pipe routing back to standard, it seems to intrude on the interior space and must be a safety hazard.
seriously tho, looks quite sound. Good luck
