If there’s fuel in the tank, because the pump is lower you do risk syphoning the entire contents of the fuel tank if you remove the pump. So make sure you bucket is big enough. Or better still drain and drop the tank first.

There's not much in the tank to be honest. I put a fiver in to give the engine a good run so most of its probably gone plus the in tank pump has been removed for about 3 weeks so allowing for evaporation there's probably less than half a pint left
