Hi All,
I’ve seen some Xenon Halogen headlights on eBay and wondered if anyone has any experience of these?
Thanks.
Not sure it's the same on mainland GB as it is in NI, but I believe they can be an MOT failure over here... might be worth double checking first?
My current understanding is you cannot upgrade the existing lamps. For example: you can’t fit led bulbs in place of h4 bulb in a standard lamp unit.
But if you were to replace the headlight unit with a purpose built sealed led unit with the correct markings and light pattern then it’s ok.
Bit of a grey area if you ask me and unlikely every MOT tester totally understands the rules
Thanks for the info'.
I'm going to try upgrading the wiring loom first and see what that does...
Best bet is to get one of those H4 Booster kits off ebay and some osram nightbreaker bulbs.
You'll find the lights to be far better then and you'll still pass MOT
As per a post elsewhere, Osram Nighbreakers are old hat now. There's something else that I posted about the other day. Philips RacingVision seem to be the new kid on the block with a nice bright white output.

Are they legal?
RacingVision drums up visions of 'for offroad use only' printed on the box!
Just a fancy name given by the marketing team, nothing actual race related about them:

but oddly enough this is listed as no long available - so superseded.
Ah, the newer model is this

I'll pick some of them up for the red one...when I finally get there!!!
