I've tried both Matt Palmer and Dubstock they "uncommon" ly reply to emails and then usually drop off the face of the earth once you ask for a price....
I have a seat base lurking around, if it's early I have no use for it.

Thanks for looking now the foam bases are out of stock ooh well....
Dubstock have looked after me and a height adjustable base is being shipped out to me, I've ordered new seat foam for both front seats direct from Germany.
Frustratingly a 30 day order time on foam bases.
Add in new cables and runner guides and it's got expensive.
Let's hope my butter fingers don't wreck my interior.

I know this is for an early car but sharing my observations:
When I was doing the seats on my late 5 door the bases looked like they would interchange with a 3 door. Also the back is very similar too except for there being an outer tab that is screwed into the base to stop the seat from hinging forward. The inner fixing of the back has the hinge hooked tab. Obviously the tilt handle and cables would need installing.

Thank you Andy any advice on stripping down the front seat is more than welcome, I really don't want days of faffing around with the car in bits hopefully I can sort one seat at a time.
