For newcomers, we park on the straight strip of car park directly in front of you as you turn off the main road, and avoid the main pub car park. We usually hang around for a bit while others arrive, and park up before heading into the pub for a shandy or refillable Pepsi. ;-)

This is a long running VW meet that has historically started as a mk2 meet then a few of the mk1 OC guys got involved and rebranded as Bristol Dub Love. Over the years as regulars have changed vehicles we’ve welcomed all types, happy to call it a Car (and Bike) Enthusiasts Meet now.
Looking back over my own history of the past 8 years I’ve been in different Mk2s, a Mk4 and Mk5, a few times in my Beetle, BMW e30 touring and both classic and modern motorbikes.
Since COVID hit this has been on hold. We managed a decent 'Goodbye 2021 meet' Friday December 3rd and will be looking forward to making this a regular calendar event again in 2022.

Quick bump for anyone local that fancies going to the pub this Friday
A pretty good turn out for a winter meet, especially when there hasn’t been one for over two years. We had 4 mk2s (and a Land Rover).
Sorry no pics, was wet and dark and my photography skills with my crappy old phone aren’t worth the effort.
As above.
First contact with club members since acquiring car in January this year. A good cross section of the genre attended; 8V, 16V and mildly unhinged 20V conversion.
Spent couple of pleasant hours discussing merits, or otherwise, of MK2 ownership and left seized of much more information and positive anecdotal evidence justifying my choice of ‘retirement’ car, although wifey sees it as collateral against new kitchen at present.
Looking forward to catching up again in New Year.

Likewise - Instead I had to sit through two hours of gymnastics display in a cold warehouse. Daughter's display lasted just over 2 mins, but couldn't leave until it had all finished.

Haha, thankfully my daughter dosen't do that anymore. After many hours in casualty with a dislocated shoulder because the trainer pushed too hard she kind of lost interest.
How crazy was the cost Eddy? Our daughter would like to go more frequently but it's £90 a month plus "optional" insurance! I'd had no idea it was this much when she started and then was invited to join the squad....
Is anyone up for a small gathering again this Friday as it'll be the first Friday of February?

Friday night, the weather was trash and combined with the Jubilee celebrations and the extra long weekend many people already had plans or were away so it was a quiet little meet up but great to see my old golf next to my new one.

The next one will be Friday, October 7th. The clocks don't change till the end of October so there will still be some light before we head into the pub for a shandy.
We had a pretty decent year on the whole, ending with the December meet and Christmas meal for those that chose to eat. It hasn’t been easy trying to get this meet back up and running after Covid took it from us. But there were only a couple of months where there was only a couple of us.
I’ll make a new thread and I post dates for 2023 soon but just wanted to confirm we do NOT hold a January meet. It’s too soon after the festivities so everyone needs a break.
