Hello and thank you all already- have been trawling through lots of your info over last couple of weeks 👍🏻
Long story cut shortish just been given back the mrs late father’s mk2 16v small bumper on an e reg 1988. He passed some 23 years ago, the car was then  used as a third vehicle for about 12 years and pretty much sat for the last 10. I’m starting off with a lightish resto with the aim of a mot but it’s hard not get further involved.
I’m doing ok so far, renewing replacing and repairing  but I wonder if someone can point me in the direction of a fuel tank sender seal, it’s the smaller version, sorry to ask and I have looked

Welcome along!

I have found you can get a fair chunk of obscure seals etc from Autodoc, not the most user friendly of sites and the delivery takes a while.  But they've been good to me so far.

Thanks for the welcome and advice- have managed to order one from TPS- £16 plus vat. Surprised  by what parts they still have available and not as expensive as I was expecting

Hello.

Luckily many parts are shared across the whole VAG family, so you find part numbers for things on mk2 Golfs that were still on random stuff like SEAT Incas, well in early 2000s and beyond. Which has helped keep some parts still easily accessible and affordable.
