Title: OE Rubber or Silicone
Post by: Eddypeck on September 27, 2022, 04:58:37 PM
I've been looking at replacing my coolant hoses. From as far as I can tell they're all original 31-year-old rubber.
I noticed the metal pipe is looking a bit shoddy so an ideal opportunity to refresh the lot.

Thoughts on OE rubber vs Silicone sets? I'd do black, I'm not about the bling on silicone, it just feels like a nice upgrade and I've found a silicone set for not much more than replacement rubber.   ::)

I'm not a fan of silicone coolant hoses.
Back in the day, I tried fitting them to two different cars and was chasing leaks for ages after.

With the Red Rescue, I bought new Gates rubber hoses from autodoc and not a single one leaked.
Only cost about £60 all in too
