why do you call a golf a female ?
are all golf's in the uk female or just the nicest ? :-)
in germany they are probably male. all of them.
already cause of "der golf" in our language.
Generally I find if people give names, guys name their vehicles girl names, and girls name theirs boy names.
But there’s no fixed rules and I know of exceptions.
Sometimes names are less emotional and can be related to the vehicle’s characteristics, such as Ruby for a red car. Or maybe the letters or numbers I’m the registration plate suggests a name. Or sometimes it’s just on sound, Gary Golf, Polly Polo etc.

until recently, the concept of assigning a name was new to me.
if anything, i assigned a song to our jetta. deep purple - child in time.
I don't think I'd named any vehicle before I joined this group and everyone else seemed to be doing it :))
