Title: Headlight warning buzzer
Post by: Thevdubman on June 21, 2020, 11:44:46 AM
Hi guys.
I'm after a quick plug and play method for getting a warning tone to sound letting me know I've left my lights on....is there anything off later models that I can use?

If your car is late spec ce2, I believe you can use the chime relay from a mk3. Iirc still not plug and play, you need to do a few wiring mods.

Rubjonny has done a write up in this in the past. Not sure if it’s lost to the old forum but most of his stuff is duplicated on club GTi, a quick google normally returns something.

since i have spoiled the battery (https://www.vwgolfmk2.co.uk/clubforum/index.php?topic=1574) lately,
having a notifier in would be desirable for me, too.

@Eddypeck , the search engine led me down.
may you google the rubjonny topic for me ? ;-)
@Thevdubman , have you been able to find anything ?

elektor has put a circuit online (https://www.elektormagazine.com/magazine/elektor-197904/58317).
there is another one (https://www.elektormagazine.com/magazine/elektor-199207/29967/) which is probably more simple,
but undisclosed (as one can see) or i can not find the right page.
and cause of copyright one would need to ask them
before disclosing circuits from their actual magazines, i guess ?
i do not know exactly how far the copyright goes, if it's just a few parts, but well.

basically i would need to know
where i can connect to the front (56a, 56b somewhere ?) or rear lights
and the door contacts, preferably separate, or the interior light (31b somewhere ?).

it should all come together in the fusebox, right ?
