So it has been a while since I last had the steering alignment corrected. I've bought some camber adjustment bolts and a camber alignment tool and thought I'd have a go myself.
The Haynes bible says the camber needs to be:
-35' +- 20' which seems to be a third to a fifth of a degree negative camber?
My camber level increments in degrees! Maybe I just use it to see how far out it is then take it to a garage!
My rule of thumb for a mk2 is -1.5
-1.75 if I'm feeling fruity.
I'll have a play at the weekend. I can't make it much worse than it is now....famous last words!
Yeah -1.5 is what I set mine to, you can get that much with standard bolts, when assembling you push the shock hard in before torquing up the 2 bolts, it moves the hub negative, did this on mine when I fitted new shock springs and top mounts and took it for alignment and the camber was near enough -1.5 both sides.
