I managed to take out my crank end bolt (with considerable effort and a few bits of wood and scaffold bar). I read without much surprise that this is a single use bolt, so ordered another one. I think it was a tenner or so.
The one I took out was a six sided bolt of 45 mm length but the new bolt that has arrived is a triple square-headed bolt of same thread pitch and diameter but just 30mm length. It doesnt even look like it will reach much of the loading part of the thread in the crank., as the crank end toothed pulley is 25mm deep. see pictures

That other bolt is probably the PB 8v one N90320802 M14x1.5x33, the part number you have is correct for KR but you also need 068105193A washer for that bolt.
Thanks T2000. It looks like the old washer is stuck hard on my pulley, and Ive not tried to hard to disturb it, as I hear friction is key. Do you think I might be best to leave it there?

I've not investigated whether the washer is stuck on yet.
Are the four water pump / damper pulley bolts around the crank end bolt also single shot? Or can I reuse those.?

Here's a picture of my crank timing sprocket with the washer firmly stuck to it. Should I prise it off and replace it with a new washer, or just roughen the surface and put the brand new correct size bolt in through it,?

Thanks for any advice.
The washer I wouldn't worry about too much but I would replace the 4 socket head bolts if you are in there part number N 90339605

The bolt on the left is the six-sided one that came out - 46mm long. The middle one is the 12 pointed first bolt i bought, which is 33mm. I then bought the right hand one (six sided) by part number from the trail cited above,, thinking it was the right one, but it turns out to be 55mm and grounds in the crank before it bites.
Can anyone please help me get hold of a 45mm bolt ? I'm happy to buy VAG, ARP, or whatever it takes!
Yours gratefully!
That is the right part number according to ETKA
