Got it out today, need the space to fix the A2, then need to move the MK2 in. Drove it York and back. It appears to have a dick repellant force-field around it. Absolutely no problems from the regular knob drivers.

Very nice too! perhaps one day. Unless a nice 356B/C coupe comes my way!

Thank you, I missed a trick when I bought it.  For the same £k I could have picked up two 356 coupes or a reasonable 356 convertible.  For the amount I use it the classic cars would have been better buys.
It does mean that I can now turn up at Coffe&Cars, weather permitting.
