Hella is an internationally operating German automotive part supplier with headquarters in Lippstadt, North Rhine-Westphalia. The company develops and manufactures lighting and electronic components and systems for the automotive industry, and also has one of the largest trade organizations for automotive parts, accessories, diagnosis and services within Europe.

Hella supplied Volkswagen with many of the original equipment parts on the Mk2 Golf such as rear lamps, side repeaters, headlights* and spotlights as well as fog lights and the internal illumination, courtesy light, glove box light and boot light.

As well as original equipment Hella produced under licence many aftermarket accessories, such as the colour coded lamps, high level brake light, heckleblend tailgate engorgement, spoilers, grills, and body styling kits and other items such as wheel trims and steering wheels.

*Hella were not the sole supplier, Bosch (https://www.vwgolfmk2.co.uk/clubforum/index.php?topic=12.0) branded headlamps and spotlights can also be found as original factory fitted part.
