Title: Fuel Sender issues
Post by: Scherni on January 08, 2021, 10:53:29 AM
Morning all,

had a crack at trying to solve the fuel gauge issue on mine - earthed the wiring at the fuel sender and the gauge flew up to max - so assume it is the sender unit causing the issue

following the hHaynes manual - the removal seems easy enough

also I am going to attempt this fix - Fuel Sender Fix (https://www.volkswagenownersclub.com/threads/repairing-your-fuel-sending-unit.78890/)

and finally if that doesnt work, would this part from VWH resolve the issues before getting the whole unit?

VDO Fuel Sender Universal (https://www.heritagepartscentre.com/uk/v226001-vdo-fuel-sender-universal.html)

thanks

Quick question on this

Would I need to drain the fuel tank for this?
