Title: Running without instruments ?
Post by: Eddypeck on February 19, 2021, 08:08:25 AM
I currently have the dash stripped out but need to move the car.

Just wanted to check I don’t need the instrument cluster or any switches plugged back in do I?

Wasn’t sure it it’s needed to complete a circuit or anything. Obviously not driving on the road, just need to turn it round on the drive.

Pretty sure you'll be fine, can't think of anything that will be affected off the top of my head.

Good, that’s what I thought. Just plugged the ecu back in, now trying to find my jump leads. Had them recently too lol

Not sure last time it was started, but fired up first time. Don’t know if I needed the booster but started off a secondary battery just for good measure. Rolled it back and forward to free up the brakes. Handbrake will need proper attention before mot but it moves at least. Almost ready to move into the garage on Monday for the strip down.

Well the interior is already stripped, need to get the windscreen out to deal with this darn leak once and for all. Depending on what that reveals will be how far I need to take it apart. I was thinking I’d need the wings off to check the bottom of the A pillars but had the arch liner out today and got a good enough look (and feel) around that I’m confident that’s solid.

She was SORN end of March last year, so it’s time recommission and get mot ready

Ahh, I see.  I've started taking mine apart too!
