Other Problems / Re: Unlucky for some 13 potential water leak areas.
My Mk2 has been in a garage for 10 years and now it’s out and I’m using it, water is leaking in everywhere

I spent Saturday replacing the membranes as the cards were soaked but now the headlining is wet ( just cleaned the drain via wheel arch as the sun roof is stuck)

But now just noticed a drip by the fuses on the drivers side

Can you get the original wax to seal around the grommets?

The belt is in remarkably good condition considering- it’s showing signs of splitting!

Did all mk2 engines have belts?

I have a 1.6 CL 4+ E - it’s a very early 1986

I’ve not long had the car but looking at the engine, the cover is a metal one - just wondered if some were chain driven?

My son is an estate agent and found the car covered in dust in a garage - it’s been parked up for 10 years has 1 previous owner and 54,000.

Loads of service history

Looks like quite an early model

New battery, fired it up and drove it home

Hopefully going for its MOT soon
