Best 16 Valve Mechanic

Hi, I have a very low mileage genuine 16 valve Golf and I need some engine work done (timing belt etc) and I’m trying to find a garage with experience that could supply and install genuine parts. Can anyone recommend a good mechanic. I don’t think my local VW dealer could carry out the work. Don’t mind travelling anywhere in the country for the best service.

Where abouts are you based?

You'll have a hard time getting all genuine parts, but you'll probably get parts that are from the manufacturers who originally produced them. They just won't have the VW logo or part number on them.

I havent used him myself but Martin Challice at Grey Goose Restorations seems to post a lot of mk2 golf maintenance and owns a stunning 16v. If I were looking for someone I would definitely give him try
