Threaded / Rethread technique I learnt to share

Hi guys,

I had what I thought was going to be a bit of a nightmare of a repair on my mk3 golf, same principle could apply the mk2. I cross threaded the rear wishbone bolt and que thoughts of potenitally have to cut the floor to access the capitve nut or having to drop the subframe to re-tap the hole, but I was saved by finding this technique:

You cut a slit in either side of the bolt and the idea is it re-threads the nut. I was not convienced it would work so took no photos but basically i used the dremmel to cut the slits and made sure i was going in square by hand, then by socket and then on the torque wrench. This bolt needs 130nm and I was pleased to see the technique was a success!

Sharing incase someone else finds them self in this position and doesn't know this stuff!
