I've been messing about on the forum for a month or so now, only just realized there is a membership fee so im now a newly paid up member

Ive had my 1988 gti 16v for about 5 years and spent most of the time taking bits off and putting them back on!. Its now time to use it more so decided to join my first owners club
I live in Sheffield so fancy Elsecar at the races but not sure how to join the party ? (as I said its my first owners club)
Can anyone assist ?

I have a problem with my rear calipers, the handbrake has never worked very well and now doesnt work at all. The calipers are refurbished but i think fairly cheap ones. On inspection i found that the handbrake mechanism is useless it only moves the piston very slightly and only once. I want to remove the mechanism to inspect it but there are no nuts its just straight into the caliper via a seal and i dont want to damage it. Anyone have any advice on this ?

Thanks for the offer but will be looking for a new stainless one and I only want to fit it once. I’ve seen one from a company called gravity which looks good value might try that unless anyone has had any bad experience with them

Hi,

Looking at fitting a free flow manifold to my 1988 GTI 16v but keeping the rest of the exhaust original. Anyone have any advice on which ones to buy and will it affect the performance?
I bought a cheap one a few years ago on Ebay but it didn't fit so now being a bit cautious
