140mph VDO Speedo for CE1 After taking the photos I found a spare needle so I will include it!!!! Hate to use the R-word but the 140mph clocks are certainly much less common than the 120mph ones. Showing 143k miles. Can be retro fitted into any set of CE1 clocks. Rubjonny said it would work in CE2, but I wasn't convinced Ideal if you've done an engine conversion but still running 120 clocks.

VDO 6k rev counter for CE1 - not perfect Broken needle and slight kink to back plate by screw (see pic) The kink is less noticeable face on, but I took the pic to try and show it. I haven't tried to straighten it. Can be retrofitted into instrument clusters that don't have a rev counter.

Early spec CE1 Headlight switch with 8 pins. SOLD Genuine original VW part, not aftermarket copy. As this is genuine Volkswagen it's likely to be one that was fitted at factory and therefore could be over 30 years old. Considering this it is in fair condition for the age, and is in good working order.
This is what you are buying and the item you will be sent. Note the VW AUDI VAG logo and original part number: 191 941 531 A

OMP 'style' deep dish steering wheel SOLD Lets call this OMP 'style' as there are no markings other than the OMP logo on the front so I suspect this is not genuine. Although still seems to be very solid and of decent quality, there is no flex in it. Suede finish with blue stitching. Boss NOT included, but the horn button, surrounding ring and screws will be.

8v K-jet injection lines, Goodridge prototypes These were supplied by Goodridge when they were developing their injection lines, I was their test fitter. I have 5 lines, I presume the 4 injectors and the cold start (5th injector) I can't be sure how well they fitted, I think some of the lines were a tad too long giving additional loops of hose, and the ends are straight, they're not formed into bends like the originals.

8v K-jet metering head rubber boot.

Some other stuff I have but no pictures to hand right now.
8v K-jet fuel lines to WUR VW original, both lines that go from the fuel distribution head to WUR. £20

Black grab handles, fixed type, not the spring back flat ones. Full set of 3. £5
I recently picked up an eyebrow spoiler for a quad lamp grill. For that authentic 90's look. But then had the fortune of picking up a second one, in slightly better nick, with a bulk buy I just did.
So I have a spare which I just want back what I paid for the first one. £38 inc UK post
It's new and never fitted, but has some scratches from storage. It's also slightly warped I know if you use the screws to mount it that won't be an issue. But if you want to use tape to mount it you might need to apply some heat and work it back into shape.
With regards to the scratches, this is in original unpainted condition. They're usually painted body colour so this shouldn't be an issue if rubbed down and prepped properly before paint is applied.
I've finally got round to picking up some 16v hubs and callipers. I'll probably to take some time to restore them which gives me a chance to source discs and pads, but just wondering about current opinions of good (value for money) brands suitable for a road car.
Ferodo, EBC and Brembo are the names that spring to mind for brakes - but like most things I've heard people complain they're not as good as they used to be.
And the usual suspects for OE aftermarket parts Febi, Meyle, Topran all seem to offer products I have to presume these are manufactured on a sub-contract basis.
Under normal driving conditions, I could fit any happy shopper brand and get OK performance and a decent life from them. I don't want to go mad, but I'd be willing to spend a little extra if I were convinced my money was buying better quality.
But this is my daily and I put the car in real-life situations, so what is stuck at the back of my mind is all these modern with the latest tech and driving aids. I'm sure they're able to pull up to a stop pretty efficiently and I wouldn't want to get caught out by someone in front stomping on hard.
I've been looking at replacing my coolant hoses. From as far as I can tell they're all original 31-year-old rubber. I noticed the metal pipe is looking a bit shoddy so an ideal opportunity to refresh the lot.
Thoughts on OE rubber vs Silicone sets? I'd do black, I'm not about the bling on silicone, it just feels like a nice upgrade and I've found a silicone set for not much more than replacement rubber.
I'm after a rear bench close to Bristol if possible.
I only need the frame so foam and cloth can be in any condition - and really the worse the better as this will make it cheap. The perfect solution would be a 60/40 split bench but that might be asking too much.
I fitted an aftermarket heated seat kit a couple of years ago, but I'm now changing my seats to some OE seats that already have heat pads in. My loom has 2 wires, the plugs on the seats have 3 pins I think.
If anyone can help tell me what to join up that would be great.
Seats are from a Polo 6n, but I think same as Mk3 Golf
The thin one that goes from the top of the rad back to the expansion bottle. Mine's still the original hose and feels a little weak in places, probably well overdue being replaced, it's also a little scruffy and would be nice to tidy up so.
I know the braided with pink fleck is NLA and I'm not bothered by that, but I'm sure someone had some with a red fleck which was quite nice but I'd be happy with all black, but I'd rather the braided look than just rubber.
So questions...
1. has anyone got a link to the right kind of stuff? 2. has anyone ever tried to run a hard line along the slam panel and up the side of the inner wing rather than go diagonally across the bay?
Going back a few months, so many great plans, so much I wanted to do, a few changes to the car etc....
What have I done?
Zilch! not even sure I'll get chance to vacuum it out. Never mind, looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow. Just take me how you find me. I'm rubbish with names, faces etc, but please make yourself known and say hi.
Pretty sure I'll be having a late night tonight doing some last minute stuff.... of shoot, just remembered I need to go to Go Outdoors and buy some camping gas
Actually Zilch isn't quite true, I did manage to build a new improved wood burning stove/firepit last weekend. Like I've had 3 years to do this after leaving the old one behind at the last National. So in typical style leave till last minute.
I'm sure these stats are available on the server ( are they @8v_chris ? ) but I don't have access to anything like that so thought I'd start a simple poll, just out of interest.
I was just wondering how you use the forum, you can tick more than one.
I've got a spare set of Mk5 GTI callipers and carriers, I bought some 2nd hand ones and refurbished then and fitted on my Mk5 so I have my original ones in need of a refurb available.
Crazy thought but are they any use on a mk2? would they fit on 16v hubs?
