Hi all, i have tried to reshape my lower cover using heat because it rubbing on the bottom pulley however it just returns to the poor shape - any suggestions?
Hi All, i am re fitting engine and box on Friday, i have fitted the down pipe between the sub-frame and body and held it in place loosely with a bungee, my question is, is it best to fit the manifold to the down pipe and both the whole thing to the head, or fit the manifold to the head and join them together as I lower (slide) the engine in? Thanks Phil
Hi all, i have two silver heat shields, i know on hooks over the windscreen panel and sits in the two clips on the brake line fixings, where dose the other more flexible on go, its about the same size.? cheers Phil
Hello all. I have just bolted by box and lump back together fr the re install on Friday (hoary), i have fitted the backing plate to the block with the three bolts around the crank seal housing , and also the lower plate that bolts onto the box itself with two bolts, this covers the opening to the back of the clutch at the bottom. On the back of the engine there is still a small section (near the drive flange) where i can see the back for the clutch so I assume I am missing a small cover - can anyone advise please? Phi

I have a bare shell and a whole front end to refit, engine gearbox, sub frames the lot. I was thinking that i might build up all the drive train parts on the sub frame and cross member and drop the body onto it. I have a chain hoist onto the rafters of my garage (very safe and tested) so I could lift just the front end of the shell up, and i have some skates I could slid the engine etc under the car then lower the shell onto it and fit the sub frame/cross member bolts. i was going to fit the drive shafts, suspension, PS the lot. Just wondering if anyone has any experience of this method or any views before I start please? Phil
Hi all, i have just bought a 8v big bumper for parts, i want a few bits including the dash as mine is not perfect on the 16V I am restoring. If anyone wants to buy anything or wants to buy the remains please PM or call me on 07887714470, cheers Phil
I thought I would start a thread on my resto here rather than the new members area; I got my car early in the summer after seeing it on eBay, its a genuine barn find and was advertised after the previous owner had (after many years) realised that she was unlikely to have the funds or tome to get it back on the road. I was stored in a neighboring barn in the village and had slowly deteriorated, what was an engine rebuild (the engine was already out) was looking like a much bigger job. I contacted Holly the owner through ebay and arranged to go and see the car, we hit it off straight away and when it was obvious that I was fan of the mark and that I was not going to just break it for spares she agreed to end the auction and sell it to me, attached the auction page that i visited on a hourly basis:
