have you got a link? Can't see any on ebay I'm talking about the metal part not the rubber/ plastic bit.. I seen a used one on fb but looks like the mounting points have rusted
Hi guys just ordered my small bumpers from werk34.de but I just realised that I will need a splitter when I remove the big bumpers.. the valance bits seem easy to get but can't see anywhere selling the splitter bits.. anyone help
Ok, if you want cheap headlight upgrade looms, go on ebay and look up 'H4 Booster'. If you're happy to wait for the delivery from china, they're a fraction of the cost and I've had a set on for 5 years plus now without issue. Also, the nightbreaker plus bulbs are spot on!
Phillips racing vision no need for an upgraded loom there bright enough and white, Racing vision on the left standard bulb on the right
Re: the headlight loom, I bought one when they were about a fiver but never got round to fitting it on my previous car, then I let it go with all my spares. I've been looking again and noticed they're a bit more expensive, but still not the £40 heritage ask.
Thanks for that mate.. I'm gonna order some of those but there's a few types I've asked the guy which exact ones
I have fitted updated loom (ex Heritage) and Night Breaker bulbs to my car which not only provided significant improvement re’ lights but also took pressure off ignition switch etc.
can you post a link show me the right item? Also they don't do one at work? Would bill up my bumper buy
Be aware any headlights sold by European websites will likely be for lhd cars (unless specifically stated otherwise) so the direction of the beam will be wrong and therefore am MOT failure, and will also annoy other road users. I As for HID and LED, the MOT manual was recently updated making changes of this kind a failure. There are some date range exclusions but I think a mk2 doesn’t fall into it. Worth doing some research before going down the route.
I have crystal clear on mine, headlights, inner spots, bumper indicators and side repeaters. was fitted when I got it but I like the look so it’s staying for now. All with standard bulbs though.
the only other way to brighten to the headlights is to use one of these headlight harness things right?
They are NOT like the crap Heritage bumpers that are an awful fit, these fit well and come with the correct irons, see the build thread I did for my mates car.
They will also have other stuff you will need on there so best to make a bulk order to save on shipping and import handling.

that looks like a decent one.. May take a punt on that! Wasn't thinking of using the engine was gonna go with a 20vt.. but could be a decent short term option, that's a straight swap right?
Am I right in thinking your's is a 16v with ABF bottom end, or am I confusing your car with someone else's?
I wouldn't have thought using this engine would be beneficial unless there's something wrong with the current engine.
If I'm wrong then a mk3 2.0 8v is pretty much a direct swap for a 87 onward 8v, (PB engine code) and even more of a direct swap on a later 90 spec mk2 with CE2 electrics as there's no splicing of the loom required and all the senders should already be there. I have no personal experience of this, just relaying what I've picked up along the way so would need to be fact checked on all the finer details.
Remember for an early 8v, or any 16v this uses K-jet CIS (Continuous Injection System) so you have a high pressure fuel pump, accumulator etc. and different fuel delivery system, running off the metering head integral to the air box. You would need to strip all of this out.
It's likely if the K-jet side of things was working this is why you'd have a KR head and fuel system and just bolt on the 2.0 bottom end.
hi mate mine is actually a pb code 8v.. I think that means it's ce1 writing its an 88 car
