Engine & Gearbox / Air,fuel mixture screw on top of cab cover
Last post by philip -
Hi everyone,
                    I got a vw golf mk2 Driver 1990 1600cc cab.
First question, someone fiddeled with the cab air/fuel screw on top of the cab cover, now it seems to use to much petrol,...
How do you adjust it properly ??? I tried a few times when car is hot but i-m un-sure if i screw too much or too less lol.

Second question, for this car what should the idle RPM be ? I've seen some saying 800 to 850, others 900 to 950 ?
What's best ??

Thank you very much,

Regards,

Phil.

Interior, Upholstery & Trim / Code 66 Interior
Last post by Ritz -
Hi all,

New to the forum, but have own my Mk2 1.8 Driver from 1992 for over 10 years now, and finally am getting round to ro restoring it.

I am looking for a particular seat fabric. I have searched this forum and a ton of wesbites online and have been unable to find it.

Images in this drive folder: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1yur88epWqwqzfp4vGtKVLWFIaW7v_4ek
(Sorry, I don't know how to post pictures on here)

The interior code is 66 and Im hoping to buy this fabric to put get some some recaros that I have acquired reupholstered in it.

A small point but the bolster and the main part of the seat are different. Ideally if i could source both that would be grand, but my priority is the main seat fabric.

Any help would be hugely appreciated. I have already emailed matrim and werk34, and neither have it stocked sadly.

I’m james, living in st neots Cambridgeshire.
I currently own a 1989 black GTi, although currently it is a rollable shell I have big plans for the car and to get it back to being road legal. I also own a 2005 Audi a3 3.2 Quattro.
So at some point these two will be combined, been planning to do so with a body swap because it seems the most practical way to do it. Obviously the vehicles are slightly different sizes but any insight into the best way to make the gti a VRTurbo Quattro from the two cars will be appreciated. It’ll be track spec, road legal and if it’s not pushing 900hp Isit worth even doing it.? 😈

My dad had a white 16v ‘E40HEG’ when I was young and since then the mk2 is the hot hatch to have. I owned a grey 8v gti years ago and had to let it go but wanted one again ever since. This is my second black 3door shell, the previous was a driver and I sold it because the guy said he was going to put it on the road, he didn’t and I was gutted when he said it went to the scrapyard…..Once I get started on this build properly I will post updates

Finding body parts for old cars is always a bit of a hunt. You usually end up scouring eBay, scrap yards and forums. I recently had a look at the Autodoc marketplace too; it seems to have options from various manufacturers, but I’m just having a look around for now.

Hi, there's no indication as to what happened with the shell of this car. Can you let me know if you still have it or not? If you do, I will text you on the number you provided above.

@vw-widow I'm having the annual 'mare of tracking down the link to book camping and hopefully a track pass. I suspect the latter have already been bagged but if past years are anything to go by I hoping a slot comes free. TIA.

thank you all, as i said all the pictures are from the hole part i bought on ebay as i needed a few compatible bits, not actually mine.
My car looks 100% as the photo you posted Keekster64. The second photo aslo from e-bay and noticed the rubber ring in it. Mine doesn't have it so it's normal as i got the orginial pietsburg cab as explained again by Keekster, thank you again !
Finally, i looked everywhere for the piece with the rubber that holds the front of the box ( picture 1 ). Where can i buy it if possible ???, i looked everywhere and ended getting picture 4. I guess i could always cut one side ?

Thanks again, Phil.
