inner seat rail cover - getting plastic pin out

wanting to exchange the seat slide bearing,
i need to remove the inner seat rail cover.

on some models there is a black screw in,
on perhaps even earlier models there is a plastic pin.

does anybody know how to remove it without unnecessary damage ?

Removal is simple if its a screw just undo it. The plastic pin just needs levering out. The trim just lifts off.

apparently, it was one of those with a plastic bolt in the middle:

i levered it out, but also could have pushed the core out
with something thin.

On my late Golf it is a plastic fixing with a 2mm plastic rod through the middle to splay the pins out and secure it in place. Similar fixing used for the plastic seat sides to cover the tilt/recline mechanism.
Use a blunt nail to push the rod out through the bottom.
