Selling the Red Rescue! June 29, 2023, 07:56:05 AM After some thought, I've decided to put the red one up for sale.I deeply enjoyed the project, but I just don't use it. It's been sat up for the last 5-6 months and has barely moved. So after talking with Car and Classic, they've agreed to put it on their auction site.I'll let their add do the talking...https://www.carandclassic.com/auctions/1991-volkswagen-golf-gti-4oYrXg?utm_source=sendgrid&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=websiteIf you want to see the whole restoration, it's here...https://www.vwgolfmk2.co.uk/clubforum/index.php?topic=695.0 2 Likes

Re: Selling the Red Rescue! Reply #2 – July 06, 2023, 10:46:07 AM It is a shame, but all it's doing it taking up space in my workshop.Sooner or later, it's gonna get dinged or scratched. It needs to be out there putting more miles on the clock. 1 Likes
Re: Selling the Red Rescue! Reply #3 – November 04, 2026, 10:11:43 AM Fair enough, a car like that is better being driven than sitting in a workshop waiting to get dinged. Restoration projects always seem to end up like that, the fun is in the build and then it just becomes a very nice thing to look at.Whoever ends up with it is getting a well documented car with the whole rebuild thread to go with it, which is a big plus on the auction. Did it end up selling, and do you know what it made? Always interesting to see where Mk2 GTI money is heading.
