Hi from the sunny Suffolk coast, owner of the oldest mk2 in the uk ???

Just thought I’d say Hi.
Owned many vw’s over the last 20 years, mainly mk2 golf’s though.
My current project is quite possibly the oldest right hand drive mk2 in the uk.
Build date has been confirmed by Vw to be 11/1/84

It’s been off the road since 1999 so needs a fair amount of work to get it back on the road, the 16v on twin 45 dellortos I’ve fitted technically wasn’t “needed” but it sure beats the 1.3 with 4 speed that was in there ! 😂

Still loads to do before it’ll run but currently plodding along with welding.

Hopefully once I can do it I’ll get a build thread started and share some pictures 👍🏻
