Valves bent? August 12, 2020, 07:02:09 PM Hey guys I had bought a 1.6 driver project as my 1st car just before lockdown and had done mostly everything to it that I could do with what I have, the car when I bought it was running but sounded like the timing was out as it was rough so I had a mechanic come down and check it and he said the timing was out by 80 degrees, but he said compression was all good but to get it timed I will need the timing belt covers with the markings which I got and he came down a week later to do it but after he timed it he said he ran a compression test and said I lost compression as the valves and pistons were 'kissing' and he couldn't get a accurate reading as it was out of time before, but I thought the 1.6 carbs where non interference?
