See below. I'd be tempted to put a request in claiming the vehicle is abandoned (the most likely of the valid reasons for asking). You might get lucky, but as it has no MOT or tax record it could well have been scrapped. Normally the car would be SORN if it was with an enthusiast undergoing restoration.
I would think you need the year code of your car to be E, which would put it as a 1984 build. If first registration date is prior to 8th January 1985 then that also means you qualify for zero tax.
Cars being broken are certainly a help, as, despite the popularity of the Mk2, some parts are surprisingly difficult to come across. Look up Matt at Mk2 spares also, he can usually see you right.
Hello everyone. I've recently bought myself another Mk2 some 28 years after I bought my first (how depressing ) I now live in France so this time I have a LHD but otherwise it is just as I remember it. I bought an 8v model because that's what my first one was, and they are more readily available over here. I'll be looking for help and advice I'm sure but for now hello!
