Itll be slight over bore on the 1800 block with some form of pistons depending when the engine was built.

Mild head work and mildish cam.

Performance wise completely depends on the rest of the car, is it older K-jetronic or newer electronic injection? But at a guess set up right in the region of 130-140bhp

I'd advise a full strip to see its state and what pistons have been used.

Does anyone know anything about these engines I’m in the process of getting a used one it’s a 1.9 8v with the c pack head and 202 cam
What sort of performance?
Is the 1.9 a 1.8 bored out?

I have a 2.0l 8v k-jet and just wondering if there are any bigger throttle bodies available maybe a 16v or Audi unit?

What are you not happy with?

What do you want from the car?

Its swings and roundabouts really, firstly dont waste your money on a 4 branch, they literally just add noise, the standard 4-2-1 system is more than enough for 200horses.

You could overbore your 8v or get a 16v 2ltr but bear in mind they 100% will need a rebuild, my 9a 16v ive just got in to rebuild needs an +0.5mm overbore and new pistons and there is zero oversize old stock pistons available so theres the best part of 700 quid on pistons alone plus the crank needs a polish and all the new bearings, seals etc.

My other 16v ive done overbore to 1900cc full rebuild with head work and parts alone just topped 2k.

Have you had the current set up properly turned by the likes of vince at stealth? Just a rolling road set up could wake up the current 8v a lot.



yes It was tuned but a while ago now, it probably needs took a part and checked then retuned on a rolling road i just wanted more power/torque so thought about the big valve head on my 2.0l block.

I currently have a 2.0l 8v fitted in my 87 k-jet wit a mild cam,what are your thoughts of going big valve head,cam four branch manifold ect of even bored out? Or would it be more cost effective to go 2.0l 16v (abf bottom and kr head)?
